My good friend, Bea, celebrated her 89th birthday yesterday. I made this card for her because she still wrestles with hay bales in order to feed her beloved pony, Tonka. The image is from doodle pantry, a site that was responsible for getting me hooked on digital art.

Stencils are not high on my priority list, that is until I bought the cloud stencil from My Favorite Things. I use chalk to make my clouds because it is so forgiving.  The stamp is from Stampin Up.

I had finally started working on my Christmas cards using the image called Wreath - Birch and Evergreens.” from power poppy.com. It doesn’t include a lot of coloring which really helps me to accomplish my goal of making 50 cards.

We had a powerful message at our church this morning followed by a good lunch at a local family owned restaurant with some special friends. The conversation was really flowing until our food arrived. September Power & Spark: Hitting the Books

powerpoppy.com has another great challenge in which we are to create a card or tag, etc. with a book theme. I checked out my inventory of Power Poppy digital stamps and came across the Orchid Dreams digital set which I thought would work. Layout is simple. I colored the design with my Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils. Card stock is Rich Razzleberry from Stampin’ Up.

Another good day

     I got some much needed housework done today, then my husband and I had a delicious meal at Sonny’s. Now we’re home watching the Gator football game, but since I can’t just sit here and watch the game, I completed a card I wanted to enter in a couple challenges using a couple themes.
     The Creative Confetti Challenge at powerpoppy.com this week was to be inspired by a catalog, circular ad or magazine when crafting a card. I chose a page from the Birds&Blooms magazine to color the Succulents & Baubles digital wreath.

     The challenge for Sweetstampingchallengblog.blogspot.com was to make a card using the sketch they provided. I was able to use it for this card. More fun.

School Daze

The theme for the challenge at incywincydesigns.blogspot.com this week is school. Whether children are homeschooled or go to a public or private school, they’re back to reading, writing and arithmetic.

They say an elephant never forgets...

...But being human, I did forget to make a card soon enough for my friend in upstate New York to get it in time for her birthday. It will arrive a day or two after her big day. 😫 The good news is I did make it in time for me to enter it in disdigidesignschallenge.blogspot.co.uk. I used decorative paper, card stock and bling from my stash.

First week in August almost in the books

Where does the time go. Do you wonder that too. My friend asked me to make a card for her daughter who will soon have an empty nest. After thinking about it, it dawned on me that I did have a nest, but it had three eggs in it. No problem, I used my white out and eliminated the eggs and then colored it brown with my colored pencil. How neat it is, to have a stamp that is just what you need.

No card making last week because....

...my Echo 2nd Generation arrived and it took me a while to get it set up on the internet although it was supposed to be easy. 😳 I just kept missing a step. Then I got hooked on a new word game, Word Mocha, and it was so addictive. I kept saying to myself, one more game.

Anyway, I finished a couple birthday cards for my forever friend, Peggy, who is celebrating her birthday this Thursday. I’m going to enter this one in a few challenges. It is a powerpoppy.com image which I couldn’t resist when I saw it.

Lovely evening after another hot day

Second day in a row that we didn’t have any rain, but it cooled off this evening with a pleasant breeze.

I am posting a card I finished tonight. I tried something new which was printing my image directly on on a piece of decorative card stock with a subtle background. I liked the results so I colored it with my Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils. I used a freebie image from beccysplace.blogspot.com.

Sunday blogging time

I have been devoting part of my Sunday the last couple weeks to enter some challenges. This Sunday is no different although I got a later start today.
